Electrical Engineer
AMET, Inc., a progressive manufacturing company in Rexburg, is currently seeking a high-energy, self-motivated individual to join our team as an Electrical Design Engineer. This individual will be involved in the specification, design, development and implementation of control systems for automated welding systems.
Since 1989 AMET inc. has been an innovator and integrator of advanced welding systems to meet the most demanding applications. We have installed systems in the nuclear, aircraft, aerospace, oil & gas, wind tower, heavy industry, and general manufacturing industries.

Responsibilities Include:
· Specify, Design, Develop and Test hardware/software for use in automated welding systems.· Perform integration of AMET developed controls and customer specified mechanical systems.
· Prepare electrical wiring diagrams, cable termination details, and technical configuration documentation for system manufacturing.
· Participation in internal project kickoff meetings, production meetings, and project review meetings. Ability to offer input on project priorities and Engineering workload for setting schedules.
· Revise drawings efficiently in a timely manner to accommodate design changes, logistics pressure, and other unforeseen challenges.
· Provide analysis of systems circuits to ensure compliance with appropriate rating requirement.
· Work with the logistics team to identify supply-chain challenges, establish system electrical bills of material, communicate BOM changes promptly, and utilize ERP software to ensure accuracy of build orders.
· Support the manufacturing team by generating accurate documentation, providing technical support, and ensuring compliance with customer specification and company wiring standards. Continuous inspection of the progress of the manufacturing process is expected.
· Coordinate with the software engineering, hardware development, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure all system requirements are met and fully functional.
· Responsible for ensuring facility integration of electrical, safety, data acquisition, and any other 3rd-party systems are designed per customer requirements.
· Occasional Domestic and International travel required.
· Work quickly and accurately against deadlines; self-starter; with attention to detail.
· Maintain professional relationships and appearance with customers.
· Work well with ever-changing priorities and/or situations.
Preferred Technical Skills/Education:
- Associtate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or strong equivalent experience
- C , C++ programming
- RTOS Experience
- Embedded Hardware/Software Architecture, Design and Debugging Experience
- Experience with TI DSP’s, X86 and ARM Microcontrollers, Linux Operating System
- Experience in defining and developing user interfaces, graphical and non-graphical
- Digital, Analog and Power Hardware Experience.
- Controls Systems/Algorithm Design Experience.
- Experience with motors or actuators.
- Experience in system integration.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems.

Pay: $58,000.00 - $81,000.00 per year
