Experienced Banquet Manager
primarily weekends
Job Responsibilities:
- Hands-on service of banquet events; this position includes serving guests and setting the example for staff
- Prior banquet or restaurant serving experience
- Coordinates the setup, servicing of the function, and breakdown of the event
- Lead the team by example setting the standard for excellence of service, team cooperation, and friendliness willingness to tackle any responsibilities
- Interfaces with each bridal couple, event host, and/or vendors to ensure a smooth event
- Provide first line of responsibility to address any issues or problems during the event. This includes knowing when to appropriately escalate the response to the manager
- Set-up and tear-down requirements include the ceremony site, bridal changing suite, and reception space in keeping with the detailed instructions on event orders
- Oversee the operation and execution of banquets and catered events from the staging process through the conclusion and close-down of the event
- Works with staff towards ensuring the event space is clean and fresh (this may involve cleaning mirrors, restrooms, trash removal, etc.)
- Responsible for the performance of all banquet service staff: new and existing; will be responsible for training service staff and ensuring high standards of service
- Schedules all Banquet Servers, Bartenders
- Create banquet summary (using an event order provided by management) and follow procedures to completion.
- Evaluate each banquet and make suggestions for improved service.
- Provide courteous service to our guests and be cordial to all team members.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Set the expectation of ensuring excellent quality and guest service.
- Other duties as directed by management, including deep cleaning of the banquet facility once a year.
- Interface with vendors throughout the event to ensure smooth coordination of duties
This position involves significant hours during wedding season from March through December and on weekends.
