- High Point Country Club is seeking an experienced Full-Time Facilities Maintenance Director to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of care for two clubhouse campuses located six miles apart, oversee housekeeping and oversee security of the buildings. Our ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent time management skills. We are looking for someone who is hands on and has a strong work ethic. This position requires the ability to work on some weekends and holidays. This position requires the working knowledge of the following trades (Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC, Painting, Plumbing & Housekeeping).
- This could be a great opportunity for a Maintenance Dir. at an apartment complex, retirement facility or hotel, who desires to eliminate late night emergency calls due to overnight residents.
This position serves the Club as a Department Head and reports directly to the President & CEO.
Maintenance Director responsibilities:
- Manage housekeeping staff.
- Manage alarm and video surveillance systems.
- Manage repair and maintenance projects.
- Oversee general maintenance of buildings and grounds.
- Maintain HVAC systems.
- Serve as Director of Safety by conducting safety meetings and managing records.
- Interact with health and safety inspectors to ensure the safety of all members and staff.
- Perform routine maintenance repairs and projects as needed.
- Respond to maintenance requests.
- Schedule preventative maintenance programs for major equipment and make sure it is in good operating condition.
- Communicate and build relationships with outside vendors.
- Respond to emergencies on an on-call basis.
- Complete heavy janitorial/ maintenance work as needed.
- Ensure the security of all facilities.
- Perform other tasks as needed.
- Routinely inspect both Club’s buildings, grounds, and equipment. Schedule, assign and perform work as necessary according to the priority of the task.
- Handle purchasing for the Maintenance Department, using proper purchase order procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring proper storage, usage, and disposal of all chemicals.
- Supervise and coach staff in the housekeeping department.
- Ensure proper clock-in procedures are followed by Maintenance employees. Monitor hours worked to prevent overtime. Approve time cards at the end of each pay period.
- Ensure that all employees report for work in proper uniform.
- Prepare work schedules for Maintenance Department employees.
- Prepare annual budget for cleaning, repairs, maintenance and payroll, maintain labor and other expenses to budgeted amount
Technical Skills
- 5+ years’ experience in Maintenance preferred
- 2+ years’ supervisory experience preferred
- Business correspondence writing skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of state, federal, and OSHA regulations
- HVAC / PTAC
- Painting / Varnishing
- Sheet rock and Wall Vinyl repair and installation
- Plumbing
- Electrical
- Carpet / Tile / Grout Repair
Physical Demands
- Must be able to assist with pushing and pulling of large or awkward objects
- Must be able to stand for up to 6-8 hours daily
- Must be capable of repeatedly standing, kneeling, squatting, bending and sitting
- Must be able to spend extended periods of time on the computer and/or phone
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds alone
- Must be able to stand on or climb ladders and step stools
