High Point Friends School, a PK3- 8th grade co-educational, independent school located in High Point, North Carolina, is seeking a full-time 1st/2nd grade multi-grade classroom teacher.

The faculty member's primary responsibilities are to:
- Plan and facilitate daily learning experiences that target students' assessed needs based upon the HPFS curriculum, NC Standards and mission of the school.
- Supervise students to ensure their spiritual, physical, and mental well-being.
- Communicate appropriately with parents and administration regarding students' achievements, growth, potential and behavior.
- Provide learning opportunities that are targeted to meet each student’s personal characteristics and academic needs. This includes aligning the academic rigor of each student’s experience to the student’s capacity for productive struggle
- Use formative assessment to guide instruction much more heavily than summative assessment to evaluate student progress
- Maintain a clean, organized, and clutter-free learning environment that facilitates highly engaged and active learning.
- Plan and execute engaging field trips that supplement the curriculum and learning taking place in the classroom.
- Embrace and implement Quaker pedagogy and demonstrate character and personality traits that will contribute to a positive and enriching work environment.
- Complete duties as required and participates in all required school events and the life of the school with a commitment to the ongoing development of an inclusive community.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the administration
Qualifications and Qualities:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Current NC teaching license preferred
- 3+ years teaching elementary students preferred
- Experience utilizing SMART Notebook software preferred
- A commitment to the inclusive mission of Quaker schools and HPFS in particular.

- Ability to be a self-starter and initiator, and ability to effectively work independently and on a team

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $38,000.00 - $39,500.00 per year
