Position Summary
This Individual will work as a member of a field survey party under the guidance of the Planning Director. Duties may include assisting with setting of precise locations and measurement of construction control lines, elevations, areas and contours for construction, topography, map making, land division and land titles uses. Reports to Planning Director.
May be asked to assist the GIS Analyst in utilizing Geographic Information System techniques to provide a better understanding of certain variables in a given geographic location. Extract data from GIS software and use varying analysis methods to arrive at results. Recommends appropriate reactionary strategies in response to GIS analysis. Provides maps and data sets to clients to supplement analysis.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists with the operation of survey equipment, field measurements, utility measure- downs and construction staking.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions in the English language.
- Work cooperatively with others.
- Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Must be able to travel from site to site, work closely with others and alone with potential exposure to inclement weather, dirt, dust, brush, and mountainous terrain.
- Generates standard and custom products such as maps, diagrams, exhibits, and displays in a neat and well-organized manner using ArcGIS for various Tribal Government documents.
- Conducts overlay analysis of geographic data sets.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
REQUIRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:
· High School/GED required.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
· Possession of a current California driver's license
· Grader/Checker training, staking experience.
· GPS experience
· Familiar with Auto CAD

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
