At Children First, we provide child-centered care that focuses on providing a safe environment to foster creativity, independence, and empathy through age-appropriate play and learning activities.
We are looking for individuals to support not only the cognitive growth of our children, but also the emotional, imaginative, problem solving, social, and physical growth, as well as fill children with self-esteem to help them navigate our society. The children of today will be our leaders of tomorrow.
As our name implies, the care and wellbeing of children is and always will be our top priority. We are searching for teachers who agree with this motto and want to make a positive impact on the children entrusted in our care. Children First invests in our teachers by providing teachers with the training and resources necessary to be successful in and out of the classroom.
.Our center opened on June 3rd, 2024 and we are looking for 2-3 additional teachers to join our staff.
Lead Teacher Requirements
- A heart for children
- An understanding of early developmental stages
- Technical diploma in a related field, preferred
- Experience in early childhood development, preferred
- Have the education and/or experience necessary to qualify as a Child Care Teacher per the Wisconsin Registry
Lead Teacher Job Expectations
A. Responsible for the management of the classroom
- Create an inviting space that is clean and uncluttered
- Rotate classroom materials at least monthly
- Update paperwork in a timely manner
B. Ensure each child’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs are met
- Be aware of each child’s individual needs, ex. allergies
- Oversee and schedule diapering, eating, large motor, and other activities as required by state licensing
- Use sign and verbal language to communicate
- Continually interact with the children!
C. Observe each child, then use observations in goal setting, work with each child to meet goals set, and update each child’s portfolio and family on progress
D. Design activities and lessons with children developmental stages in mind
E. Provide child-led activities that build creativity and independence
F. Communicate with families by:
- Update the care application with activities throughout the day, including pictures
- In-person at pick up and drop off
- Meet with families for bi-annual teacher conferences
G. Support and work with team members
- Oversee and lead assistant and float teachers in the classroom
- Be supportive and encouraging to all staff members
- Work together to provide the best care possible throughout our facility
H. Abide by strict confidentiality
Assistants Teacher Requirements
- A heart for children
- An interest in early developmental stages
- Completed coursework in early childhood development or the willingness to complete coursework within six months of hiring
- Experience in early childhood development, preferred
- We will provide education and training for the right candidate
Assistant Teacher Job Expectations

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
