The Database Analyst guides the use of database technology, works with various units within Information Services and the campus community to ensure the continuing operation of the University’s database systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. This position is responsible for maintaining, securing, and upgrading these core University systems. The Database Analyst acts as a subject matter expert for database and ERP products and provides training to Information Services staff and campus users. This position focuses heavily on security, scalability, and performance tuning of University systems.

This position is responsible for maintaining, securing, and upgrading these core University systems. The Database Analyst acts as a subject matter expert for database and ERP products and provides training to Information Services staff and campus users. This position focuses heavily on security, scalability, and performance tuning of University systems.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required. An equivalent combination of years of experience and education may be considered for substitution of educational requirements.
Experience: Two years of information technology experience with demonstrated expertise in database administration and management, web server administration and management, Linux server proficiency, and troubleshooting complex systems is required. Knowledge of Ellucian’s Banner software suite is preferred.
Skills: Must be able to perform the duties of an Oracle and MS SQL Server Database Administrator. The ability to apply creativity and logic towards troubleshooting complex issues. Ability to manage multiple concurrent and competing projects and priorities. Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with technical writing. The ability to maintain confidentiality regarding information processed, stored, and accessed. Develop knowledge and respect for those of other cultures and backgrounds. Proficiency with SQL, PL/SQL, Python, Ansible, and Terraform languages. Proficiency with command line (Bash, PowerShell) interfaces and scripting. Familiarity with automated dev-ops pipelines and Docker containerization is preferred.
Other: The twenty-four hour scope of University operations requires this position to be
available evenings, nights, and weekends to support implementations or upgrades and to respond to calls regarding questions or problems with the University’s computing systems.
