The Harford Center is a non-profit organization that provides services and supports to adults with disabilities.
We have provided programming to adults with disabilities since 1961. Since our inception, we have focused on providing the best care while respecting each person's individuality, choice and needs. The Harford Center is unique in that it provides services to an array of individuals from those needing high-end medical care to those that are actively seeking employment. All individuals receive support in exploring their interests so that that can live independent satisfying lives. The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for:
- General maintenance and appearance of The Harford Center
- Performing cosmetic repairs to the facility (painting, patching, etc.)
- Available in emergency for repairs or to meet contractors
- Spot clean and facility as needed
- Maintenance of grounds, including but not limited to, weekly lawn mowing and trimming during the summer months.
- Clearing and de-icing walkways during the winter months
- Reporting of major repairs needed to Center building, grounds and vehicles to Supervisor or the Transportation Coordinator
- Tracking and listing cleaning supplies to be ordered
- Driving an afternoon transportation route as needed
- Secures and locks building at the end of the day
- Smaller projects as dictated by building needs
- Other duties as assigned
Experience and Education:
- Knowledge of basic building repairs and maintenance including but not limited to; HVAC, plumbing, light electrical
- Basic knowledge of use of power and hand tools
- High School diploma or GED
- Trade certification a plus
Qualifications and competencies:
- Current drivers license with 2 points or less, no DUI/DWI
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft products
- Functions independently 80% of the time
- Ability to drive a 15 passenger van or bus
- Maintain confidentiality of clients
- Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check
- Must be over 21
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 70+ lbs.
- Ability to work in high places
- Ability to work outdoors during inclement weather
- Ability to climb ladders

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
