If you are looking to apply your early education experience, build professional relationships, and make a difference in the lives of young children and families, this unique opportunity is for you!
Family Child Care (FCC) is a vital part of the mixed delivery system of child care in Massachusetts and a preferred choice for many families looking for smaller, more individualized care options for their young children. We are currently seeking a full-time, dynamic, devoted and passionate early childhood specialist (ECS) for our well-established FCC System team to meet the needs of a growing and diverse field of FCC Educators throughout Southeastern MA.
As an ECS, you will build on the existing strengths of assigned Family Child Care Educators and offer support and guidance with regard to continuous program quality improvement through monthly program visits and ongoing communication. The ECS will monitor the growth and development of children enrolled through the system and support the FCC Educator with screening and child assessment, developing and individualizing curriculum for mixed age groups (primarily infant-K aged), and assisting with outside referrals as needed.
You will also support families with accessing and maintaining subsidized child care financial assistance, facilitating tours and enrollment, and encouraging successful program participation.
The ECS role at Empower involves advocacy and collaboration with state agencies and local community partners and encourages personal professional development and lifelong learning.
The ECS must manage a busy schedule, be adaptable to change, demonstrate solid conflict resolution skills, and be detail oriented. The ECS position primarily requires daily travel within an assigned catchment area, including Taunton, Lakeville, Carver, Plymouth, Wareham and upper Cape, however staff may be assigned to other locations as needed. Initial training would be conducted at our Canton office as well as out in the field.
