Job Summary
The Fleet Technician (Diesel Tech) will be ultimately responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing medium to heavy duty Class B, Class 8 semi-trucks, tanker trailers/bobtails/straight trucks, LPG trucks/trailers, pneumatic trailers and other company vehicles and equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential
- Oil and filter change on company trucks and other company vehicles and equipment.
- Lube drivelines, chassis, and suspension components
- Inspect tires and wheels - inflate tires to proper inflation
- Change tires when needed
- Perform all other preventative maintenance schedules
- Visually inspect all components and record findings
- Complete paperwork for all repairs performed and show any deficiencies that were found during inspection
- Communicate information with supervisor to schedule any needed repairs
- Must have your own tools
- Assist coworkers on other projects and repairs when needed
- Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized.
- Perform emergency roadside repairs and operations of service truck as necessary.

- Able to move freely around work and customer sites.

- Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Able to push, pull, walk/climb various terrains.
Travel
- Up to 25% (Other Company Sites)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required
- Valid Class R Drivers’ License.
- Must possess your own certified
- Thorough knowledge of safe working practices, DOT, OSHA and other federal and state regulations.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance and repair of a fleet of vehicles.
- Advanced knowledge of engine, emission systems, transmission, brake, hydraulic and electrical systems of heavy equipment.
- Experience with maintenance costs relating to personnel, purchasing, inventory control and outsourcing of repairs
- Must have a strong knowledge of cargo securement.
- Ability and desire to work in a positive, fast paced and high energy environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills within software programs such as MS Office to include Word and Excel along with the ability to learn company systems and processes.
- Adheres to the company’s values and ethical expectations.
- Well organized and able to effectively multitask.
Preferred
- Possess a valid Class A CDL with Hazmat/Tanker endorsement and have an acceptable driving record.
- Class A Mechanic certification preferred.
- Prior experience related to mining and railroad property.
- Prior maintenance experience of crane equipment, tilt bed trailers, and moving tanks.
- Trade or technical school (Certificate or diploma) in an applicable field.
- Experience in lubricant industry, fuel industry, or transportation industry.
- Experience working in a Large Fleet /Assets environment.
- Electrical charging system and light experience helpful.
- Air brake system experience is a plus.
- AC experience preferred.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
