Gramercy Bakery is a manufacturer of gluten free bars and cookies. We are currently looking to fill a Maintenance Technician position, someone to oversee the facility and equipment preventative maintenance and work with production on optimizing the equipment and setup for the space.
Must possess experience with food manufacturing equipment and machinery.
Experience with extruders, packaging machines, conveyor belts, oven and precision tooling is a plus!
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Coordinate system repairs and monitor system performance while executing the Preventive Maintenance Program and logging all activities
- Managing the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
- Provide technical support for equipment troubleshooting and equipment modifications
- Perform both uptime and downtime preventative maintenance in adherence to the master PM schedule. This includes lubricating and cleaning parts as recommended by the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Perform and document the completion of corrective maintenance work orders
- Responds to emergency work orders with priority to food and employee safety requirements
- Repair and maintain building utilities
- Have the ability to learn and perform minor machining and welding tasks
- Design and layout circuits, install fixtures, wiring conduits, motors, and other electrical equipment/components, including proven ability to use multimeter
- Communicates with manufacturers and vendors to obtain estimates, and order parts with appropriate level approval
- Manages maintenance records and machine parts inventory
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and be an active member of the CI team
- Assist with training new employees as needed
- Attend meetings and trainings as required
- Perform additional related tasks as requested, maintaining all standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations
- Recommend maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility design modifications
- Oversee building and grounds maintenance.
- Coordinate the Pest Control program while coordinating with the Quality Manager
- Coordinate waste disposal
- Check completed work by vendors and contractors
- Control activities like parking space allocation, building security etc.
- Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs
- Execute equipment audits and record-taking policies
- ensure insurance plans cover current equipment
- Conduct OSHA and Safety oversight
- Monthly OSHA inspections
- Ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols
- Operate and maintain custodial functions. Supervise all staff facilities staff and external contractors.
- Hire, oversee and supervise a team of maintenance technicians as necessary
- Eventually hire, oversee and supervise the sanitation technicians
- Oversee and supervise the quality of work by other employees to ensure that all tasks are performed correctly, efficiently, and effectively
- Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and lift; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach above shoulders, climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
