Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Facilities Manager to join our team in Kennesaw, GA. The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of the organization's physical infrastructure. This role ensures that facilities are safe, compliant, and functional to support the company's operational needs. The Facilities Manager will manage a team of maintenance staff, coordinate with external vendors, and implement effective facility management practices to enhance the workplace environment. They will also manage security vendors and construction projects/vendors.
What you'll be doing:
- Facility Maintenance and Operations: Oversee the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and systems to ensure optimal functionality. Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Ensure all facilities are compliant with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Budget and Financial Management: Prepare and manage the facilities budget, including forecasting and monitoring expenses. Identify and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining quality standards.
- Vendor and Contractor Management: Select, negotiate and manage contracts with external vendors and service providers. Supervise the work of contractors to ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
- Space Planning and Utilization: Optimize space utilization to meet the needs of the organization. Plan and oversee office moves, renovations, and reconfigurations.
- Security and Safety: Develop and enforce security policies to safeguard the organizations assets and employees. Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Environmental Sustainability: Implement sustainability initiatives to minimize the environmental impact of the facility. Monitor and manage energy consumption to improve efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Lead, Train, and evaluate the facilities team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Assign tasks and projects to team members and monitor their performance.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans. Coordinate emergency drills and ensure staff are trained on emergency procedures.
- All other duties as assigned
What you need to be successful:
- Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications preferred.
- 7 - 10 years Facilities Management experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years in a managerial / supervisory role required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must have basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
- Strong mechanical experience as well as a background in engineering, architectural and construction preferred.
- Experience / training in security and workplace safety is required.
- Ability to interface with all levels of personnel, as well as local and governmental officials.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent Project management and organization skills
