General Maintenance Technician position provides support to internal and external client needs by performing manual labor in support of Corrosion under Insulation.

- Promote and participate in Safety Programs (STEP BACK, CI).
- Communicate daily status of current projects to CUI Crew Lead to ensure all projects are timely and within company standards.
- Attend and participate in required meetings, trainings, exercises, and drills.
- Assist others on special project needs, when appropriate
- Perform pipe stripping, lifting, scaffold erection, corrosion coating reconditioning, sheet metal fabrication, pipeline insulation, rigging, asbestos abatement, and new technology support.
- Facilitate a safe work culture by being a Leader in safety and perform all tasks according to company and client safety guidelines, including proper hazard recognition and mitigation.
- Operating a variety of hand and power tools (buffer/grinders, Jig saws, drills, T-bar, rakes, shovels, etc.), carrying and lifting materials (Cribbing, chock blocks, straps, insulation, metal, etc.) for pipeline insulation removal and installation.
- Operate and/or supervise operation of vehicles to include pickups, 12-foot flatbed and box van trucks (F-550), small mobile trailers and other equipment in adverse weather and road conditions.
- Participate in job site walk downs and TBT meetings; perform shop, field and vehicle inspections.
- Demonstrate support for the company's environmental management system.
- Participate in TBT's, pre-job walk downs, and safety START card preparations covering work activities and materials required by the job.
- Participate in the CCI Industrial Services active list for spill responders.
- Coach and train CCI Industrial Services crew members.
- Asbestos abatement on process piping, in compliance with our NEA. Submits a chain of custody form for all RACM (Regulated Asbestos Containing Material) to show RACM from generation to disposal, per State of Alaska Regulations.
- Fills out and submits a Daily Compliance Log for each driver stripped which, per State of Alaska Regulations.
- Systems Scaffold erecting and dismantle, non-engineered.
- Building crib stacks (2x2, 3x3, 4x4, crow's foot) per Engineered Lift Form to act as a temporary support structure for line lifting/rest point.
- Perform Line Lifts using Airbags, Lift Jacks, Rigging, Cranes per Engineered Lift Form.
- OQ (Operator Qualification) certified to perform Line Lifts and Coating installation on DOT regulated process piping.
- CUI GMT/Scaffold Technicians will build knowledge/competency on standard shop equipment and learn sheet metal and insulation fabrication to include but not limited to; T's, unequal T's, miters, gores, reducers, end caps, flange cans, mailbox, wall flashing, etc..
- Hard-toe safety footwear is required at all times while working.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Skilled in written, verbal and interpersonal communication that includes good listening, providing clear direction and effective feedback.
- Ability to clearly speak, write and read the English language.
- Skilled in rock-climbing, ice climbing or working at heights off ropes.
- Skilled in leading continuous improvement initiatives in the workplace.
- Ability to perform job functions while using a respirator (half and full face).
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- A valid driver's license is required
- NSTC card is required.
- Current Asbestos Abatement Certification through the State of Alaska is required within 3 months of signing offer letter at no cost to the Company
- 2+ Years of hand and power tool knowledge and experience is required.
- 2+ years of work experience in a job with physical requirements is required.
- 1 year of CUI experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
- 1 year of 'Systems Scaffold' erection and dismantle experience is preferred.
- Understanding of Greater Prudhoe Bay Inspection is preferred.
- Previous experience working in a planning capacity in construction.
- Previous work experience supporting Corrosion under Insulation.
- Previous NDE work experience is preferred.
- Prior organizational leadership or management training or education is preferred.
- 3+ years' experience directly leading other workers is preferred.
- Prior Ultrasonic Testing (UT) experience is preferred.

- The position is on-call 24 hours/day while on shift. Flexibility regarding hours of work is required as needed to meet the demands of the job. Position may be reassigned at any time to meet operational objectives.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works at the construction site. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
- Position may be working with potentially hazardous materials and waste.
- Work in confined spaces and repetitively bend and/or twist through small entryways.
- Walk, climb, and maneuver on or around piping, piping supports while working in a crouched position.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles in a mechanical shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection and the use of safety eyewear is required in most working situations.

- MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.
- HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
- VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man. Have correctable vision to at least 20/40.
- LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 70 pounds from floor to waist, 50 pounds from wait level to shoulder height and carry 70 pounds for 20 feet.
- RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurement will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
