The Maintenance Technician has the qualifications and business acumen to troubleshoot machinery problems and continuously monitor electrical and mechanical devices as part of a predictive and preventative maintenance plan. The incumbent should understand and demonstrate proactive maintenance concepts and employ best maintenance practices. This position is expected to have a significant impact on improvements in run time efficiency.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Compete assigned work orders and checklists for the day, and document work performed using the internal documentation process.
- Rapidly respond to urgent (prioity1) calls to address issues in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoot to Identify electrical and mechanical issues by using test equipment (meters, meggers, strobe lights, etc.) and repair issues with all equipment (production, facilities, auxiliary, etc.)
- Servicing of electrical equipment including AC and DC drives, PLCs, and their associated control networks and I/O.
- Create and process urgent work orders when assigned.
- Attend daily assigned meetings to assist in identifying priorities for the day.
- Assist in Root Cause Analysis when involved in the associated failure.
- Repair and/or replace defective electrical or mechanical equipment.
- Assist in identifying parts for repairs.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and equipment modification projects.
- Document all modifications made to equipment during repairs (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam, etc.).
- Work overtime as needed for critical jobs or breakdown situations.
- Abide by Glatfelter Mount Holly standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 2 years Maintenance work experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- 2 year Technical degree is related area is preferred.
- Basic understanding of electrical knowledge is preferred.
Competencies
- Basic electrical/electronic circuit knowledge.
- Understanding of paper waste recovery, baler, and cyclone system.
- Working knowledge of motor control systems, PLCs, and communications systems.
- Working knowledge of relay and ladder logic.
- Working knowledge of production and support equipment.
- Ability to read prints, assembly drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Machine roller and component rigging for overhead crane use.
- Safe working knowledge on use of shop tools including lathe, mill, press, welder, and saws.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required.
- Computer competency including email and Microsoft office.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Ability to work well under pressure independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $26.00 - $39.00 per hour
