Position Description
Weris is currently seeking a skilled Senior Applications Programmer to provide support to a Weris Department of Homeland Security customer. As a Senior Applications Programmer, you will be entrusted with technical oversight and guidance for the development, maintenance, and support of software applications.
This is a hybrid role with work performed remotely and occasionally onsite in the District of Columbia (D.C.) area or at the Weris corporate headquarters located in Sterling, VA.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborating on new software development initiatives as directed by the Systems Division.
- Leading all aspects of software development, including project initiation documentation, gathering and documenting requirements, software design, software development, testing, training, and implementation.
- Offering technical leadership, oversight, and direction for the software development of both new and existing applications.
- Providing maintenance support for existing applications, including software enhancements, bug fixes, and associated documentation.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of application architecture, design, configuration, and processes to support ongoing maintenance and future enhancements.
Qualifications- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, or related field. An additional four years of relevant experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of eight years’ experience in a related field.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Strong technical skills in software development.
- Proficiency in Qlik, Tableau, or similar dashboarding software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
