The Human Resources Benefits Coordinator is responsible for assisting employees with benefits enrollment and questions, verifying all insurance billing, maintaining employee database and files, and ensures compliance with required benefit notices. They are also responsible for supporting other HR operations.
This position requires a fast-paced individual who is a quick learner and possesses strong communication skills. The Human Resources Benefits Coordinator works closely with other HR professionals in the hiring process and the ongoing maintenance of all benefit plans.
Responsibilities also include responding to emails, answering phone calls, addressing employee inquiries in person, taking meeting minutes, and ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages employee benefit plans and serves as primary point of contact for all benefit plans to include but not limited to medical, dental, vision, disability, life, 403(b).
- Ensure insurance enrollments are completed and provides employees with assistance with insurance plan. Enrollment is completed using HRIS, Paycom.
- Organizes and leads annual Open Enrollment for benefit renewal.
- Leads the discussion of benefits at monthly orientation.
- Coordinates and facilitates HR presentation for new employee orientation.
- Develops and/or implements employee communications to enhance the understanding and appreciation of benefits programs.
- Reviews monthly invoices for accuracy and notifies Accounting of approval to pay.
- Proactively explores innovative approaches to enhance and optimize benefit plans.
- Process ACA 1095 forms within HRIS, Paycom.
- Collects 5500 information for all applicable plans and presents to accounting for preparation.
- Responsible for processing and tracking family-medical leave, leave of absence, and short-term disability paperwork. Manage the paperwork and recordkeeping for employees’ FMLA leave.. Also coordinate employees’ return to work procedures.
- Ensure that COBRA notices are issued as required.
- Coordinates 403(b) quarterly meetings for staff with financial advisors
- Remain abreast of all benefits and BRC policies in order to answer employee questions. Also handle inquiries about vesting and rollovers for employees who leave the company or retire.
- Prepare annual census for benefit renewals as needed.
- Produce reports and analytics related as needed.
- Maintain well-organized records, documents, and project files.
- Track tasks and assignments, ensuring timely completion to meet deadlines.
- Assist with various HR projects as necessary.
- Assist and support new and changing Corporate and HR initiatives and programs.
- Support the implementation and administration of employment policies, communications, procedures, and programs.
- Assist with the termination process, conduct exit interviews, notifies appropriate parties of terminations and analyze departure trend data. Track employee turnover.
- Work with volunteers to run monthly OIG and Sex Offender reports.
- Responsible for tracking of accidents and injuries. Maintains OSHA Log and other safety records as required. Ensure that workers’ compensation claims are logged with provider. Provide proper follow up as needed.
- Sends flowers when appropriate to staff.
- Cross train with other areas of Human Resources.
- Assists with other projects/events in Human Resources such as Employee Recognition Event, etc.
- Must be very sensitive to the types of information processed within the department. Confidentiality is a must.
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order. Must be willing to travel to the entire service area.
- Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
