Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Hotel Engineering Supervisor to join our team. The Engineering Supervisor is a hands on position and will assist in overseeing the maintenance operations, supervise staff, and ensure the efficient operation of our engineering department.
Duties:
· Must be able to understand and follow directions, guidelines and work objectives as set forth by the Chief Engineer.
· Must use common sense and integrity in ensuring the security of guest belongings while working in occupied guest rooms.
· Must possess a complete understanding and working ability to manage the operations of the maintenance department.
· Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
· Maintain pertinent records and files related to the property.
· Maintain all compliance standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations.
· Flexible to work evening shifts, weekends and holidays.
· Monitor Inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies are on hand
· Cover FLSD shift when needed.
· Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include hotel dress code and uniform requirements.
· Ensure that all interactions with guests, managers and other employees are always friendly, attentive, courteous and efficient.
· Routinely communicate with the Executive Housekeeper and all other employees on issues of maintaining the property.
· Promote a team player attitude
· Responsible for maintaining the physical structure and grounds of the hotel property in like-new condition.
· Handle maintenance requests, manage improvement projects, and oversee the hotels preventative maintenance program.
· Manage the operation of the maintenance department to ensure compliance with company standards, safety rules, and health and sanitation regulations.
· Ensure the mechanical status of property and maintenance equipment.
· Have complete understanding and working ability with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting and carpentry as needed.
· Comply at all times with the hotels compliance standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
· Participate in all-employee meetings, events, and other functions as required by management.
· Be familiar with all policies and house rules, as well as hotel terminology.
· Understand emergency procedures and be prepared to help with necessary.
· Be an active member of the Emergency Response Team.
· Respond to guest calls according to our Hotel standards
· Utilize ALICE and radios efficiently and professionally in communicating with the hotel staff. Use proper radio etiquette when communicating with other employees.
· Perform any other duties as requested by management.
Experience/Requirements:
- Proven experience in hotel maintenance management and supervising engineering teams
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Technical training school or equivalent is preferred.
· Must have experience in a hotel or a related field
· Must be proficient in computer business software applications such as Word and Excel
· Prior Supervisory experience required
· Must have a valid driver’s license
· Must be fluent in English.
· Certificate of Fitness requirements: F-85, S-12, S-13, G-92 and Universal Certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Long hours sometimes required.
· Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
· Ability to stand during entire shift.
· Ability to reach overhead, utilize both hands, to bend over and to stoop and kneel.
· Ability to operate various types of maintenance equipment.
· Must be capable of climbing and descending stairs during the shift.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00 - $34.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
