Commercial Lines Insurance Account Manager with 3-5 years of experience in commercia property & casualty insurance needed to perform the essential functions of the position, which include aiding clients with service needs and making changes to existing accounts. Specific service and marketing responsibilities are required in this position. Meets service and sales delivery standards and performs essential functions to the quality and service standards developed by the agency.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Works as an efficient team with agency Producer to assemble, market and place coverage for new and renewal clients.
Compiles underwriting information in conjunction with the producers for new and renewal business.
Prepares applications in coordination with producers; submits applications to eligible and appropriate carriers; reviews/compares coverage options/differences and advises producer and/or client.
Prepares summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals as needed.
Remarkets renewals and handles all other renewal activities in coordination with the producers.
Renews policies following agency standards; verifies each renewal’s accuracy; ensures that all renewals are processed and billed. Verifies policy information, facilitating corrections when necessary.
Assists clients with making coverage decisions; uses each contact with the client as an opportunity to review and round out the account. Identifies clients’ insurance exposures and recommends solutions.
Provides timely attention to clients’ needs by producing binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and other related items, verifying each for accuracy.
Process audits, policy changes, new/renewal policies; verifies accuracy and facilitates corrections, as needed, between client and carrier.
Processes incoming email and mail requests, responding promptly and appropriately.
Accurately invoices all premium bearing actions within agency management system.
Maintains appropriate electronic records within agency management system.
Provides technical support to producers and takes an active role in mentoring CSRs and CSR assistants.
Other responsibilities as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Active Property and Casualty License
- College education or equivalent insurance experience
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others to explain complex issues
- Ability to receive and interpret complex information, and respond appropriately
- Ability to consistently meet multiple deadlines and effectively manage priorities
- Ability to maintain detailed electronic files within agency management system
- Adequate knowledge of rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively manage and maintain assigned clients
- Knowledge of insurance markets and reference to markets
- Knowledge of insurance rating and underwriting procedures
- Ability to utilize computer programs and understand functionality
- Professional, committed and self-motivated with the ability to focus on daily tasks
- Knowledge of or willing to learn agency management system
- Proficient with Microsoft Office –Outlook, Word, Excel
- Experience with Applied Epic Agency Management System a plus
