Function:
To provide a clean and safe kitchen.
Responsibilities:

Maintains a friendly, efficient, spirit of service toward Residents, co-workers, and guests.

Assumes 100% responsibility for the cleanliness of dishware and the kitchen.

Loads, runs and unloads dish machine.
- Monitors dish machine water temperature and detergent, sanitizer, chemical levels to ensure sanitary wash cycles.
- Keeps the dish machine clean and reports any functional or mechanical problems to management immediately.

Washes, sanitizes and stores all tableware and kitchenware according to the Federal Food Code.

Handles tableware carefully to prevent cross contamination and breakage.

Ensures the dish room, food preparation, production areas and equipment are kept clean and organized.
- Completes daily and extra sanitation cleaning.

Delivers and picks up room trays and menus ensuring all items ordered are on the tray. Completes all room tray paperwork.

Returns salad bar to the main kitchen making sure all items are labeled, dated and placed in the refrigerator.

Ensures that all trash is removed, and floors are swept and mopped daily.

Provides assistance to Diet Aides and Residents during meal times.

Ensures all food transport trucks are cleaned and sanitized before the next use.

Maintain the Mission Statement and Core Values of the company and the Goals of the Food and Nutrition Department.

Attends all In-services and Food and Nutrition Department meetings.

Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability and punctuality.

Observes infection control, safety and follows policy and procedures.

Performs all other duties as assigned by management.
Must be able to see regular print (with or without corrective lenses). Must have ample feeling in fingers to grasp small objects as well as, be able to balance, climb, crouch, pull, push, reach, stand for long periods of time and stoop. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Must posses a positive attitude and work well with other team members. Must be able to work unsupervised. Must be able to communicate clearly with Residents, managers and various staff members. Must be able to follow oral and written direction and ask questions. Must be able to be flexible in scheduling and be able to work during inclement weather. This position will be exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions including chemical hazards. Adequate safety training and equipment will be provided.
