About this Position:
This position contributes to International House success by providing exceptional customer service to all guests. This job creates the "wow" experience for our guests by providing guests with prompt service, quality beverages and products and maintaining a clean and comfortable work environment. Models and acts in accordance with International House's mission statement. This position involves all aspects of Edmonds Café operations, including station preparation, serving and presenting of food; seating and serving area set-up, cleaning of facilities to maintain sanitation standards, point of sale operations.
Key Responsibilities:
The job involves constant customer interaction, serving food and beverages for consumption on the premises. The Café Associate will operate point of sale system, accept payments and prepare receipts. Ensure that prices and quantities are accurate, answer inquiries, and provide helpful information on products, promotions, or item location. Prepare menu items, fulfill guests orders and helps maintain the cleanliness of the Café area and work stations. You will also respond to complaints in a positive manner, direct concerns to Café manager. Participate in the stock takes and assist in putting away new stock. Provide backup to other Café employees. Assist with training of student workers on all coffee and beverage stations (including beer and wine for those that are over 21 years of age) and food preparation.

- Coach, guide and lead student worker's training and customer service relations
- Delivers exceptional service to all guests by acting with a customer comes first attitude and connecting with the customer. Discovers and responds to guests needs.
- Follows International House Cafe operational policies and procedures, including those for payment handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all team members during each shift.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Engage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to guest needs through clear and pleasant communication
- Available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift
- Ability to interpret and comply with local, state, and federal health and sanitation standards
- Responsible for adhering to café liquor license compliance and café policies regarding beer/wine sales, service, & consumption
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Experience with industry standards for guest services, including point of sale systems and inventory management.
- Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
- Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays

- Salary Range is $66,560 - $74,520 (annual salary for this role is commensurate with experience)
