We’re seeking a Senior Associate to join the Dreyfus Trading team. The primary objective of the Senior Associate Trading role is to collaborate and provide assistance to the trading desk by executing and monitoring trading.
This position is based in our New York City and is a hybrid working role.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
Communicating market prices and liquidity conditions to trading desk and Portfolio Managers.
Managing intra-day cash positions across a variety of investment products including money market funds and separate accounts.
Assisting in managing market and liquidity risk.
Working independently with delegated responsibilities from more senior traders, which includes the pricing of securities and executing term transactions.
Liaising with operations and support teams through the life cycle of the trade to ensure proper trade settlement.
Completing assigned market research for trading team, distribution, and clients.
Handling routine trading desk inquiries and runs reports as necessary.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ideally 2-5 years money markets or fixed income experience.
Experience trading money market instruments preferred.
Strong interest in financial markets. Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced trading environment.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $58,900 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
