Job Summary and Scope of Responsibility:
Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School is looking for an Early Childhood Education Specialist to provide support for the developmental and social-emotional needs of our youngest students. The Early Childhood Education Specialist will serve on a part-time schedule supporting Monday-Friday from 8:00-12:00 during each school day working with our 3 to six-year-old students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Guide teachers and work with students to implement best-practice classroom instruction and interventions
- Directly support the needs of individual students, creating and supporting the implementation of individual plans as needed
- Work with teachers to help identify and support student needs that impact classroom functioning
- Support parents as they navigate the process of identifying and supporting needs, both inside and outside of school
- Communicate and collaborate regularly with teachers, parents, and private providers
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned

- Support pluralistic Jewish education
- Active member of the of the life of the school
- Fulfill co-curricular responsibilities and school duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred
- Degree and/or teaching certificate in Early Childhood Intervention or Early Childhood Special Education
Experience:
- Experience working with early childhood children and diverse learning populations
- Experience working on a team with a collaborative planning process
- Strong background working with diverse learning and social-emotional needs
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of child development and a Reggio-inspired/Constructivist pedagogy
- A deep understanding of developmental milestones, including language, motor, cognitive and social-emotional/adaptive skills
- Willingness to keep current through appropriate professional development
- Proven ability to work as a member of a team
- Knowledge of and experience with evidence-based programs and best practices for early childhood children
- Strong decision-making and written and oral communication skills
- Creativity and flexibility with daily schedules and plans
- Ability to maintain accurate records confidentiality
- Strong collaborative skills
