Milwaukee Oral Surgery & Implants, Ltd are seeking Surgical Assistants for our busy oral surgery practice. Our offices are conveniently located and serve Metro Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, Brookfield, Menomonee Falls, Mequon, Port Washington and Milwaukee’s North Shore.
You will help with preparing patients, sterilizing instruments, setting up rooms, and assisting in surgical procedures. To do well in this role you should have a strong attention to detail, provide a great level of patient care and be dependable. **$500 hiring bonus for successful completion of 90 day training period**
Drs. Miller, Triggs, Smith, Midtling and Waligora practice a complete spectrum of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery and facial trauma.
While oral surgery experience is a plus, we are happy to train the right candidate. We offer a structured training program which allows for advancement as well as paid training and certification opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing patients for surgical procedures.
- Helping with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedures.
- Assisting surgeons in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary.
- Providing great patient care.
- Recording treatment information in patient records.
- Exposing dental x-rays from dental diagnostics and caring for dental x-ray equipment.
- Collecting and recording medical and dental histories and patient vital signs.
- Providing postoperative instructions as directed by the surgeon.
- Maintaining dental equipment and supply inventory
Requirements
- 1-2 years of dental assisting experience
- The ability to take direction from the oral surgeon
- Dependable transportation as travel between offices may be
necessary
- Willingness to learn and progress during training period
- Works quickly, is organized and detail-oriented
- Must have good manual dexterity
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Must be able to stand during the work day
