Job Overview
The Doctor Assistant’s role is to set-up and maintain an operatory environment that allows the dentists to provide exceptional patient care. The Doctor Assistant will assist the dentist in chairside procedures and manage the flow of his/her own dentist’s patients. The Doctor Assistant will stay current with changes in dentistry by seeking continuing education yearly. The Doctor Assistant will engage as a team player with everyone in the office to maintain a cohesive working relationship with all team members and create an atmosphere for success.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Possess and maintain a current TSBDE Registered Dental Assistant License.
· Possess and maintain CPR certificate.
· Follow the standards and protocols set forth in the employee manual.
· Assist his/her doctor in all procedures.
· Keep his/her operatories stocked, organized and clean.
· Run sterilization procedures throughout the day to keep the clinic flowing.
· Assist other doctors, assistants and hygienists as needed to keep the clinic flowing.
· Take and manipulate radiographs and iCAT images.
· Take Trios and iTero scans as directed by the doctors.
· Take and upload clinical photographs, intraoral and extraoral as needed by his/her doctor.
· Communicate procedures completed and treatment prescribed through software, route slips and verbally with the business team for accurate scheduling, billing, and reporting.
· Manage all lab cases for his/her doctor, including fabricating retainers and trays.
· Obtain a minimum of 6 hours per year of continuing education.
· Complete patient notes the same day as the patient visits for his/her doctor.
· Complete all maintenance procedures requested by Clinical Coordinator.
· Follow all OSHA and Radiation guidelines set forth by the Clinical Coordinator
· Follow all HIPAA guidelines set forth by the HIPAA Compliance Officer.
· Participate in all team meetings.
· Complete all training prescribed by owner, including, but not limited to, Smart Training.
· Participate in 1-2 community events annually to promote the practice.
Qualifications
· RDA license
· CPR training
· Nitrous Oxide monitoring certificate
· Coronal Polishing and/or Sealant certificate (Optional)
· No experience required
· Friendly and compassionate
· Self-Starter
· Team player
