Answers incoming telephone and radio calls and directs the caller to the correct person or work group, or takes and relays messages as appropriate.
Retrieves and distributes Department mail.
Perform clerical and administrative duties, including data entry, record keeping, preparing and processing various documents and maintaining files.
Prepares reports; may prepare time sheets for employees and keep daily records of attendance; processes documents and maintains department document logs as required.
Prepares documents, collects data, and enters information into computer tracking systems; schedules, prepare and proofreads documents for distribution.
Greets and assists visitors; provides information within scope of authority.
Coordinates and schedules meetings and appointments as requested.
Maintain confidentiality of work-related issues, personnel records and Borough information.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of North Slope Borough policies and procedures.
Skill in using personal computers and a variety of software applications.
High school graduate or G.E.D/or, a combination of 12 years of education and related work experience.
Applicant must pass a criminal history background check conducted by the State of Alaska Background Check Unit. (HEALTH DEPARTMENT only – excluding Vet Clinic)
