Summary Description
The Associate Head of School is a key leader internally and externally, helping to advance the mission and daily operations of the school. Working closely with teachers, students, administrators, parents, and as a key player on the Administrative Team, the Associate Head of School will be an experienced school professional who will add value in multiple realms of school life. This position reports to the Head of School.
The Associate Head of School has responsibility for all K-5 faculty members. Furthermore, there will be opportunity to take on additional direct reports at both the beginning of one’s tenure in the position, and over the course of time as the Associate Head of School grows in experience. These determinations will be made with both a successful candidate’s strengths and the school’s needs in mind, and in a manner that allows for one’s initial year to be focused on building relationships with the faculty and within the school.
Responsibilities
Overview of school development and operational leadership
- Ensures that frameworks and processes are in place for cycles of operational progress monitoring, strategic planning and annual goal setting
- Working knowledge of the Comprehensive Performance Framework , specifically with regard to student achievement and growth
- Creates and follows policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all State, Federal and Charter laws; reports any concerns to Head of School and Operations Committee
- Supports faculty and staff, primarily in the Lower School, in achievement of operational and organizational goals
- Holds faculty and staff, primarily in the Lower School, accountable to operational and organizational goals
Supports, leads and monitors school operations and compliance including, but not limited to:
- Oversight of all aspects of school operations in the Lower School
- Data and operations reporting to the Head of School, Board, GaDOE, SCSC and Federal Government
- Maintenance of all records, documents, and files for reporting to the Head of School, Board, GaDOE, SCSC and Federal Government
- Assist in maintaining the integrity and success of BIA
Oversees Lower School operations including, but not limited to:
- Development and enforcement of school policies and procedures
- Train and support staff in adherence to school policies and procedures
- Collaboration with Head of School and Operations committee on additions and changes to policies and procedures
- Attendance at professional development opportunities that are directly related to the vision, mission and improvement goals of the school
- Oversight of student data collection and submission including FTE count verification and student record verification
Ensures effective communication and community involvement including, but not limited to:
- Development of explicit shared vision of the school that incorporates the voices and perspectives of stakeholders
- Design and implementation of a robust parent and community involvement plan that supports students’ success and the needs of the school community
- Effective communication between school and home as well as between school and community
- Holding teachers accountable for effective and regular communication with parents and students
Oversees all school data collections and reporting including, but not limited to:
- Student data collection and reporting
- Report cards
- Attendance reporting and communication to parents
- Course and class schedules
- Data Management in the SIS (Infinite Campus)
- Maintain classified/certified personnel records and certifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or Higher in Educational Leadership or Related Field
- At least 5 years experience in organizational leadership in a school setting
- Must hold leadership certification by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
