Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our medical office team. As a Medical Biller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our medical billing processes. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in medical coding, medical billing, and medical office procedures.
Duties
- Utilize medical coding skills to accurately assign ICD-10 and CPT codes to patient medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage and process medical claims, including preparing and submitting claims to insurance companies.
- Conduct thorough medical record reviews to ensure completeness and accuracy of patient information.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve billing issues and obtain necessary information.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and billing records.
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMRs) and medical billing systems to manage and process claims efficiently.
- Perform medical collection duties to ensure prompt payment from patients and insurance companies.
- Collaborate with the medical office team to resolve billing and coding discrepancies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary education in medical billing, medical coding, or a related field preferred.
- Current certification in medical billing or medical coding (e.g., CPC, CMC, or CCS).
- Strong knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMRs) and medical billing systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality of patient information.
Skills
- Medical billing and coding experience.
