Job Description:
MEI has a job opportunity for a highly experienced and strategic Director of Human Resources to join our team. The Director of Human Resources will play a critical role in developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives that align with the company's goals and objectives. This position requires a proactive leader who can drive HR excellence, foster a positive workplace culture, and support the overall success and growth of the organization.
Job Duties:
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs that support the company's objectives and promote employee engagement and retention.
- Oversee all aspects of employee experience support operations, including benefits administration, employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, training and development, and HR compliance.
- Lead and manage the employee experience support team (HR, Recruitment, & IT), providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to identify and address HR needs, challenges, and opportunities within the organization.
- Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and productivity, including employee recognition programs, career development opportunities, and performance feedback processes.
- Manage employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution processes, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of all employees.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Oversee HR compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including but not limited to equal employment opportunity (EEO), affirmative action, wage and hour laws, and workplace safety standards.
- Develop and maintain HR metrics and analytics to measure the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and legal developments in HR, and recommend changes and enhancements to HR policies and practices as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in benefits administration, employee relations, talent development, and other HR functions.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team and drive HR excellence.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to develop and implement innovative HR solutions that support business objectives.
- In-depth knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices, with a commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
- Proficiency in ADP for Employers, Microsoft Office Suite, and other HR-related software applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification
- Experience leading HR in the engineering industry or a related field.
