The Survey Party Chief will be responsible for supervising and running a survey crew for design, mapping, and construction projects. Organizes and maintains field survey crew efficiently in completing specific jobs. Accurately calculates and records field data. Reviews job specifications and plans field work methods and costs.
Supervisor of field survey crew engaged in various types of surveys for residential projects.
- Directs the field activities of the crew so that work is performed quickly and accurately.
- Understands and operates Total Stations and GPS equipment.
- Documents all phases of survey work with well-written notes
- Knowledge of field survey engineering methods and techniques and survey/GPS instruments.
- Knowledge of construction plans and specifications.
- Ability to perform higher level mathematical calculations such as algebra and trigonometry.
- Aware of project budgets and cognizant of timing in the field.
- Must be physically able to work in the field in various field conditions and travel across rough, uneven or rocky surfaces. This includes the ability to drive a vehicle in these conditions and rough terrain.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to extreme outdoor elements and dust.
- Must have good handwriting skills for preparing field notes and related project documents.
- Must possess a High School diploma with experience as a Survey Party Chief
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Must be willing to travel overnight as needed
- Must be willing to travel out-of-state on occasion as needed
- 3+ years experience in a similar role
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
