The Academy is FM Global’s unique, dynamic and forward-thinking Learning and Development Department. We support employee development by provide consistent, state-of the art training to new employees and to employees new in their roles. In-house training is developed and delivered in the core areas of engineering, underwriting, claims, leadership development as well as for our clients.
We are looking for a property insurance professional with background in client facing roles, preferably as Account Manager and/or Underwriter. Experience in field and/or account engineering is advantageous, as is knowledge in claims management. Your professionalism, enthusiasm and adaptability will be highly valued.
The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to effectively impart knowledge to a diverse audience, such as field and account engineers, account managers, underwriters, or claims personnel. Occasionally, this role may also involve training clients or brokers partners, as needed.
As Senior Learning Specialist, the main responsibility will be acting as program manager for at least one core program at the Academy, focusing on Underwriting, Claims, and/or Client Service, which includes but is not limited to owning the program(s), leading their development and maintenance, and facilitating their delivery. Collaboration with various home office stakeholders, insurance operations, learning innovators, and instructional designers is essential to ensure that our curricula remain relevant, up to date, and effectively meet the needs of the enterprise.
This is a full-time office-based position located in the Learning Center, Norwood, MA.
Manage and facilitate assigned core training curricula independently, including coordinating course communications, maintaining schedules, ensuring instructor and mentor quality, managing participant feedback, and tracking course performance, in line with the Academy‘s learning analytics guidelines.
Stay informed on changes in FM Global's underwriting assessments, client service and claims processes, and client engagement approaches to develop top-notch account managers, underwriters, and claims personnel.
7+ years of experience in the property insurance industry, with essential experience as part of client facing (aka client service) teams, ideally as Account Manager (or industry equivalent) and/or Account Engineer.
Professional certification, licenses or degrees that recognize or show mastery in property loss prevention or risk management are a plus (e.g., ARM, CPCU, CBCP, PE, etc.).
Profound knowledge of insurance (client service) processes, different underwriting approaches, risk selection, and related tools and concepts . Familiarity with claims processes is a plus.
Demonstrated leadership, alongside excellent consulting, moderating, mentoring, and coaching abilities.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
The hiring range for this position is $114,300-$164,200 annually. The final salary offer will vary based on individual education, skills, and experience.
