Summary
The objective of the Systems Engineer is to assist in the administration, performance, security and maintenance of the Bank’s network, servers, and workstations. The Systems Engineer supports users on software applications and platforms, troubleshoots hardware/software issues, and provides remediation. As a key point of contact for users to the IT department, this position is extremely customer service focused.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
Manage, maintain and monitor the Bank’s technology infrastructure and architecture
o Ensure proper controls are in place to provide security to the Bank’s network and
internal systems
o Recommend necessary changes and enhancements to hardware or software
o Oversee Patch Management processes
o UPS Testing including WAN failover testing
o Daily monitoring and remediation of A/V, SIEM, and patch management reports
o Make regular site visits for preventative maintenance
o Repair or replace server hardware and/or software
o Make site visits for equipment repair as necessary
o Update policies and procedures
o Responsibilities include, but not limited to, management of firewalls, switches, routers,
wireless access points, servers, Office 365, mobile device management, and VPNs
Plans, communicates and documents all work; especially changes to production equipment. Helps ensure processes and systems lend themselves to easy documentation, control, reliability, and recoverability.
Design and implement group policy objects
o Streamline and automate systems’ management
o Enforce security settings related to security objectives
Participate in the development and testing of the Bank’s Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans
o Daily monitoring of backups
Create and maintain technology related procedures
Implement projects and recommendations under the guidance of the CIO
o New implementation of software and/or hardware
o Software and hardware updates
o Track and ensure completion of project
Provide backup and support for first-line IT Support Technician
o Create, delete and/or modify user accounts based on request forms received
o Escalate issues to outside support as necessary
Stay current with software versions, changes, and available updates.
o Communicate to appropriate employees about content and schedule of updates.
Act as liaison with Bank software and service providers.
o Maintain communication with support and client service contacts.
o Track all open issues with service providers until successfully resolved.
Track all problems and issues using ticketing system
o Detail actions taken, including resolutions
Maintain workstation image for first-line IT Support Technician
Maintenance of the Bank website
o Make approved updates.
o Regularly review for accuracy of information.
See all tasks through to completion.
o Prioritize and manage many open cases simultaneously.
o Research questions using available information resources.
o Follow up with users to ensure issues have been satisfactorily resolved.
Ensure the security of the infrastructure
o Monitor all system security logs
o Manage the Vulnerability Scanning Solution
Stay current with system information, changes and updates
Adhere to all Bank policies, procedures, and Federal and State regulations
Exhibit professionalism in personal appearance and attitude
Perform other duties as assigned by the CIO
Qualifications

· Must be a licensed driver with ability to regularly travel to Bank branch locations.
· Thorough understanding of Federal and State agency security requirements.
· Thorough understanding of Bank policies and procedures.
Required Education and/or Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree or comparable experience with continuing education in the Information Technology field
· Professional IT Certifications such as: Microsoft MCP, MCSA, MCSE, VMWare, Cisco CCNA
· Experience with LAN/WAN equipment, including servers, fiber optics, routers, gateways, and various cabling topologies.
· Thorough understanding of DNS, DHCP, Exchange, Active Directory, SAN technologies
· Proficiency with antivirus solutions, backup and disaster recovery applications, network security systems (including but not limited to: NAC, SIEM, patch management software)
· Thorough understanding of network monitoring/troubleshooting tools
· Ability to identify and resolve network and computer system problems using network diagnostics tools if needed.
· Management of cloud services
· Working knowledge of SQL, web-based products, intranets, the Internet and proxy servers.
· Demonstrable knowledge of industry standard technology equipment and applications.
· At least 5 years’ experience in technology, network, or related field.

· Ability to regularly travel to other locations.
· Ability to operate standard business equipment such as fax, computer, printer, copier, etc.

· May be required to attend and participate in professional development activities outside the bank to stay abreast of new developments, best practices, and statutory and regulatory changes in Human Resources practice and law.

· Valid driver’s license and the ability to regularly travel to other locations.
