We pride ourselves on having earned the reputation as one of the finest firms on Long Island, with over 30 years of professional experience. We're now hiring a Foreman who will help us keep growing.
The Construction Foreman is responsible for ensuring that everything goes smoothly at a construction site. They are responsible for being the point of contact between the construction laborers and supervisors. The Foreman needs to be organized possess good communication skills, both oral and written, and should be comfortable working in a team environment, comfortably.
Duties and responsibilities
Pre-Production:
- Maintain yard inventory of fencing materials, basketball systems, net posts, etc.
- Establish preferred schedule sequence
- Analyze existing conditions
- Core drilling requirements if applicable
- Topography
- Maintaining of equipment when applicable
- Establish layout information that can be communicated to the General Manager prior to giving it to the client for sign off and additional billing
- Oversee the quality of the site
During Production:
- Integrate work activities with subcontractors, while performing your own activities
- Perform site work, set pins, set grades, remove, and install materials as needed to set elevations, layout gates/terms/sweeps/etc., install drainage, install net posts and other construction items
- Communicate with General Manager to stay keep him apprised of what is going on
Qualifications
- Operate, drive, and control heavy equipment. (Such As Bobcats, Skid Steers, Track Loaders, Excavators, Payloaders, Laser leveling equipment)
- Load and unload equipment from vehicles or trailers
- Move equipment around to and from jobsites
- High Attention to detail
- Physical ability to work in a fast-paced industry
- Ability to make decisions
Requirements
- Current CDL license a plus
- Thorough knowledge and experience grading out properties and setting elevation
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Participate in fleet management, ongoing training, and company growth
- Comply with company safety procedures
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Be highly organized
- Consistent follow-through skills
- Possess a strong work ethic
- Good interpersonal skills
- Experience running a job site and crew effectively
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
