Position: Health Equity Coordinator (Part-time, Remote)
Reports to: Program Manager
Salary: $35,000 - $40,000 per year (Independent Contractor)
Overview: The Kentucky Rural Health Association (KRHA) is seeking a dedicated Health Equity Coordinator to join our team on a part-time (15-20 hours per week), remote basis. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to advance health equity initiatives and address disparities in healthcare access and outcomes across rural communities in Kentucky.
Responsibilities:
- Research and Analysis:
- Conduct research on health disparities and equity issues affecting rural populations in Kentucky.
- Analyze data to identify barriers to healthcare access and opportunities for improvement.
- Program Development:
- Develop and implement programs and initiatives aimed at promoting health equity.
- Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to address specific health needs.
- Advocacy and Outreach:
- Advocate for policies and practices that support health equity in rural settings.
- Engage with policymakers, healthcare providers, and community leaders to raise awareness and drive change.
- Education and Training:
- Provide training and educational resources on health equity topics for healthcare professionals and community members.
- Foster partnerships to enhance cultural competency and sensitivity in healthcare delivery.
- Collaboration and Networking:
- Foster collaborations with organizations and agencies working towards health equity goals.
- Represent KRHA at conferences, meetings, and events related to health equity and rural health issues.
- Reporting and Evaluation:
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health equity initiatives.
- Prepare reports and presentations on program outcomes and impact.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience in health equity, public health, or community health initiatives.
- Knowledge of healthcare systems, social determinants of health, and disparities in healthcare access.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and trends.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage projects effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Daytime ability to attend various statewide meetings and collaborate within the KRHA team.

Travel Expectations: While this is a remote position, there is some travel within Kentucky expected for meetings and conferences. At times, travel within the US may be expected for national conferences and meetings. Candidates should have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance.
