Job Summary:
- Busy Cardiology practice seeking full-time Certified Medical Assistant with excellent computer skills and EMR knowledge.
- Experience with eClinicalWorks is a plus, but not required.
- Must be able to commute to satellite locations within a 20 mile radius. Satellite locations include: Lake Mary & Deland
The Medical Assistant provides appropriate care to patients within the scope of the Medical Practice Act. This individual obtains clinical, financial and demographic patient data and assists in patient education. Also responsible for assisting providers during the treatment and examination of patients and administers procedures and treatments as ordered by the provider. Responsibilities:
- Ensures to prep the patient at time of visit, performs EKGs, vital signs and collects patient clinical history
- Ensures all test results and correspondence are available in practice’s designated system for the provider’s review at the time of patient visit or as otherwise necessary
- Screens patients for appropriate information and documents accordingly in the practice’s designated system
- Accurately instructs patients in collection of samples and tests
- Effectively explains procedures and treatments to patients and to significant others when necessary
- Ensures consents for treatment are executed according to Central Florida Heart Associates guidelines
- Ensures efficient office flow by preparing patient and equipment for the needed treatment and initiates testing and documents results into the practice’s designated system when appropriate
- Responds to patient requests in a timely manner and accurately documents accordingly
- Prepping patients and performing stress tests
Qualifications & Certifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program required
- 1 year medical office experience required
- Experience with computers and associated clinical software required
- Must be willing to travel to 2 other locations located in Deland and Lake Mary every other week.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements.
- Must be currently certified and maintain certification by one of the following:
- American Association of Medical Assistants (“AAMA”) for Certified Medical Assistants
- American Medical Certification Association (“AMCA”) for Clinical Medical Assistant
- Certification American Medical Technologists (“AMT”) for Registered Medical Assistant
- National Association for Health Professionals (“NAHP”) for Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant
- National Center for Competency Testing (“NCCT”) for National Certified Medical Assistant
- National Healthcareer Association (“NHA”) for Registered Clinical Medical Assistant
- Current valid CPR certification is required
