We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Associate to join our corporate tax team. This individual will be responsible for the preparation of complex federal, state, and local tax returns and supporting schedules under general supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review annual federal, state, and local income/franchise tax returns, extensions, estimates and intricate supporting schedules with a high degree of accuracy
- Conduct tax research and analysis on technical issues and document findings and conclusions
- Assist with the calculation and preparation of quarterly tax provisions under ASC 740
- Provide training, guidance and oversight for staff-level tax associates
- Review and approve tax workpapers, schedules and calculations prepared by associates
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in tax accounting records and reconciliations
- Assist with tax audits and notices by compiling documentation as requested
- Keep current on changes to relevant tax laws, regulations and guidance
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal partners
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 2-4 years of progressive corporate tax compliance experience; public accounting experience a plus
- CPA, EA or MST certification
- Proficiency with CCH, GoSystem, CorpTax or other tax compliance software
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal and multi-state tax laws
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
