Our law clerks works alongside our attorneys and case managers to perform substantial legal and medical research and writing. Review of client’s electronic folder and case history for any pertinent medical and case information is required with a keen eye on any issues that may arise and need attention. Communication with clients, medical facilities, and other government entities as needed to ensure a complete file. This position involves extensive record review and document drafting, including nexus letters, Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQ’s), briefs, legal memorandum, and other content. This position offers a great deal of independence, flexibility for personal styles, and responsibility over case files. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay, BCBS benefits, PTO, and opportunity for remote work.
RESONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES
· Review documents, including medical records, service treatment records, military reports, and other correspondence.
· Perform research based on pertinent medical findings and legal arguments.
· Communication with case managers and attorneys on any relevant case issues.
· Draft case file summaries, briefs, nexus letters and DBQ’s for review by the attorney, and other content as needed.
· Maintain department goals and keep task list up-to-date.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong research skills
- Excellent writing skills with a focus on legal drafting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Familiarity with document review processes
- Paralegal experience or background in legal research
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
