Job Summary
Position Purpose: To manage assigned system installation and commissioning. Troubleshoot and resolves basic HVAC mechanical, electrical and control problems. Strong emphasis on customer service. Oversee sub-contractors. This position may occasionally involve after hour call outs in order to provide emergency repairs. Responsibilities and Duties
- Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Programming and/or troubleshooting various brands of HVAC controls products, Alerton is most preferred. Experience with BAS communication protocols; BACnet MSTP, BACnet IP, N2, P1, Modbus, LON, etc. Control system design experience. Programming of DDC systems from sequences provided by engineering. Determine replacement parts required, secure materials, and complete repairs on a timely basis. Document all work performed by accurately completing field service reports, equipment log sheets, etc. Operate and be diligent in properly caring for and maintaining a company vehicle. Provide technical support to customers. Flexible to work overtime/weekends as necessary to meet customer requirements. Limited travel required but may include occasional overnight stays especially for out of town training. Conduct oneself in a professional manner as a positive representative of the company both to the customer and public.
Qualifications and Skills
Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Knowledge / Experience / Critical Skills Education/Experience - Minimum of Five (5) years related experience. Operational knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software. Working knowledge of building BAS and unitary controls. Niagara AX and /or N4 certification. IT knowledge and Alerton is a plus. Communicate effectively with associates, vendors, and customers. Should be able to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. Efficiently manage his/her time and schedules. Must be able to work under time constraints, budgetary limits, and pressures. Must pass pre-hire requirements including background check, motor vehicle report, and drug screening. Must possess valid driver’s license. Follow all safety standards and attends required safety training. This position requires frequent working outdoors, inside mechanical/equipment rooms, and possible extreme weather conditions.
