Summary
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting Operations through the movement, both physical and systematic, of materials to the production line and throughout the warehouse. The Warehouse Associate will perform material put-away by identifying, labelling, and placing materials in designated areas to provide proper flow of operations. The Warehouse Associate will have a daily focus inventory accuracy and identification of nonconforming material.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Replenishment from bulk storage to the production lines.
- Replenishment of fixed storage locations in WM.
- Responsible for warehouse put-away and physical movements of material within the warehouse.
- Replenish storage bins to ensure warehouse associate has components for line replenishment.
- Load and unload all freight and parcel shipments, including transporting parcel shipments to BLC location.
- Ensure finished goods flow rack is loaded and ready for production.
- Communicate with carriers including scheduling outbound shipments and issues related to deliveries.
- Stage and process supplier outbound shipments to include preparation of documentation, including labels, and shipping paperwork.
- Labelling of all inbound components for storage in the warehouse and replenishment for the production line.
- Identify discrepant materials/components both in writing and verbally to Team Leader.
- Remove secondary packaging from components.
- Responsible for line replenishment on ISD and Trailer production lines, including all manual and prototype lines.
- Identify and lead process improvement measures.
- Back-up responsibilities for Team Leader and Warehouse Associate.
- Ability to perform basic tasks in SAP, including data entry and system navigation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Must be able to work in a high-performance multidisciplinary environment with tremendous focus on decision making and accountability.
- Must adhere to Plant HAMILTON core values.
- Must be a US citizen or possess a Permanent Residence Card without restrictions due to export laws.
- Possesses a stable work history, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and a strong personal desire to work safely and maintain a safe working environment.
- Demonstrates a strong customer focus, great work ethic, and willingness to do what needs to be done.
- Demonstrates knowledge of basic math, including working with decimals, and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Possesses a logical method of problem solving and willingness to learn and improve one’s skills.
- Must be able to work required overtime that can be substantial during peak customer production periods.
- Possesses good hand-eye coordination and is able to perform detailed work with a strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to show basic proficiency in computer usage.
- Able to lift up to 35 pounds, perform repetitive duties and walk or stand for long periods of time on a daily basis.
- Uses time wisely and is accountable to self and the team.
- Demonstrated reliability, good initiative, commitment, and quality focused.
- Demonstrates a willingness to move to other work areas to fill company needs.
Education
Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
