Crescent Garden is looking for a motivated, creative, well-rounded sales professional who is looking to be part of a fast-paced, growing environment. The Field Sales Representative for the Midwest Region (Ohio, Illinois and Indiana) will be responsible for implementing, and executing new strategies for growth in the corresponding territory while maintaining existing relationships with current accounts. This person should help their accounts grow by providing excellent service and post-sale support.
Job Description
· The sales representative will be responsible for calling on all customers in the region including but not limited to: Garden Centers, Hardware Stores, Large Florists, Landscape Supply stores, Landscape Professionals (Designers, Contractors & Maintenance), Architects, General Contractors and Design Firms.
· Must prospect and manage existing accounts while showing incremental growth through new account generation within the corresponding territory.
- Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and yearly revenue goals
- Develop professional business relationships with a wide array of people through strategic business approach
- Be prepared to create and deliver sales presentations to key decision-makers
- Provide continued support to customers by attending in store events, helping merchandise when needed, and visiting whenever there is an issue or claim.
- Prepare and submit required sales reports, administrative reports and forecasts to manager on a timely basis. Provide reporting on sales activities conducted, customer interactions and market trends.
- Manage sales expenses. Maintain complete and up-to-date records of all expenses and submit expense reports in a timely manner.
- Consistently communicate competitive changes in the marketplace (products/programs) to Management in a useful and timely manner while also carrying out yearly comp shops.
Key Requirements
- Must live within the territory: Ohio, Indiana or Illinois.
- Experienced in outside B2B sales experience with a proven record of successful performance by meeting targets.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated with a results-driven attitude.
- Preferably with previous knowledge and experience in the lawn and garden industry
- Prepared to travel within territory up to 75% of the time
- Travel will also be required for sales meetings and/or industry events. Must have flexibility to travel or work on weekends as needed.
- Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Education: High School diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred but not necessary
- Should have proficient computer skills and feel comfortable with new online platforms
