POSITION SUMMARY
The Data Entry Clerk is responsible for inputting data and making changes to existing data figures in digital databases. Their duties include inputting data from paper documents into digital spreadsheets, updating order statuses for customers and double-checking their work to make sure they inputted data correctly. Must be accurate with high level of attention to detail.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create spreadsheets to track important customer information and orders.
- Transfer data from hard copy to a digital database.
- Update customer information in a database.
- Organize existing data in a spreadsheet.
- Verify outdated data and make any necessary changes to records.
- Operate common office equipment, like scanners and printers.
- Search for and investigate information contained in files.
- Input text-based and numerical information from source documents.
- Provide occasional administrative support.
- Sort and organize hard copies of paperwork after entering data electronically.
- Review data for deficiencies or errors.
- Assist with special projects that require large amounts of data entry.
- Provide data entry support across departments on an ad-hoc basis.
- Type in data quickly and efficiently.
- Proofing of data for errors.
- Strong ability to multitask necessary.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, AND EXPERIENCE
- 1+ years of administrative experience or data-entry preferred
- Accurate typist with a strong eye for detail.
- Strong experience working with a team and professional and effective communication
- Ability to effectively work within record software and Microsoft Office
PHYSICAL/MENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- This position will require sitting for long periods of time, walking, standing, and bending, as well as using fine motor skills, such as finger dexterity for typing or calculator use.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with others. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- The majority of this job will be spent indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
