Our longtime client, an Employer of Choice in New England, is seeking a stellar Project Manager to help lead the implementation and support of various IT applications, including but not limited to Microsoft 365 (particularly Teams, Sharepoint, etc.).
The position reports to their office in Springfield MA a minimum of 3 days per week. To be clear, this is a contract to hire arrangement. Candidates must be within driving distance of Springfield MA.
Responsibilities include:
- Exceed our customers’ evolving expectations by ensuring World Class support to all locations to provide a pleasant and rewarding shopping experience.
- Responsible for the overall planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing tasks.
- Provide feedback on vendor proposals/bids, and coordinate contractors, vendors, consultants, and internal resources.
- Deliver timely written and oral communication of the project status to all stakeholders.
- Manage project risk, develop mitigation plans, and escalate decisions and unresolved issues as needed.
- Establish and update project and program plans; manage deviations from plan and project parameters.
- Lead project meetings, project tracking, and analysis.
- Coordinate and work with cross-functional teams, both internal and external.
- Ensure execution of the PMO governance process and contribute to improvement of the corporate PMO.
- Develop appropriate planning documents including project plans, scope documents, SOW’s, charters, Execution Playbooks, etc.
- Review requirements to determine scope, effort, schedule, time frame, funding requirements, staffing requirements, allotment of available resources to various phases of the projects, and metrics.
- Engage in and encourage continuous improvement through ideas and innovation.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or equivalent experience plus at least 6 years of experience in delivering Program Management within large technical and/or business programs.
- Experience delivering large multi-year initiatives within a mixed methodology environment (Waterfall and Agile).
- Prior experience managing a B2B solution is highly desirable as well as working with software vendors.
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills, and able to work under deadlines in a changing environment.
- Proven leadership skills, ability to prioritize, communicate clearly, and consistent track record of delivery.
- Must be a strong communicator (written and verbal)
- Adept at building executive level presentations & reporting
- Domain knowledge/expertise in software development is a plus but not required.
- Experience using PM tools (OneNote, Asana, Jira, MS Project, etc.)
- A PMP certification is strongly desired
- Experience with IT projects for Food/Grocery/Retail/Warehouse is a major plus.
