History:
Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. It is located in the heart of West Texas. Opened in 1949, the hospital was originally located near downtown Stanton. This facility served the community well for many years, but was replaced with a state of the art 18 bed facility in 2012. The new facility is located on I20, and has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
This professional staff person leads and directs all quality management activities for the hospital including patient care, patient satisfaction, regulatory compliance, risk management, infection control, patient safety, emergency preparedness, and performance improvement. Integrates the hospital-wide quality assurance functions of the medical and hospital staffs and maintains a formal Risk Management Program to prevent risks and harm to all persons involved in hospital operations and services. Coordinates and attends Quality Assurance committee meetings and records minutes. Collects and analyzes data which can be utilized in identifying and minimizing risk exposure. Develops mechanisms to ensure compliance with applicable laws, insurance carrier recommendations and regulations. Reviews patient records to assemble quality assurance information. Communicates with the physician advisor regarding quality assurance concerns. Submits documentation for peer review as needed. Maintains confidentiality while working with confidential matters on a daily basis. Interacts with Medical Staff members on a continuous basis. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Requirements:
Education:

Graduate of a program of study in a healthcare discipline, bachelor's degree preferred.
Licenses/Certificates:

Licensure or certification as RN BSN or MSN.
Experience:

At least one year of leadership experience in a healthcare setting. Must be proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Strong Excel skills preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.

Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.

A professional telephone manner is essential.

Must be able to type 40-45 wpm.

Knowledge of recordkeeping.

Ability to transcribe from electronic means.

Ability to operate office equipment.
