Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of age-appropriate curriculum activities to stimulate children's cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
- Engage children in educational and recreational activities, including arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and games.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and teamwork.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, including sanitizing toys, equipment, and surfaces regularly.
- Follow all childcare policies and procedures, including emergency protocols and licensing regulations.
- Provide support to lead teachers and staff as needed, including assisting with meal and snack times, diapering, and restroom breaks.
- Adapt quickly to different classrooms and age groups, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn.
- Communicate with parents regarding their child's daily activities, achievements, and any concerns that may arise.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; childcare-related coursework or certification preferred.
- Previous experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or educational setting strongly preferred.
- Ability to interact positively and communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong commitment to fulfilling scheduled shifts.
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with children of varying ages and abilities.
- Basic understanding of child development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary clearances as required by state regulations.
