DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Inspects buildings, fixtures, machines and other structural and/or mechanical units, noting need for repair, and performs minor maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating
2. Maintains, changes, washes and cuts filters for air conditioners and repairs, hangs, replaces and installs blinds, shades and window treatments
3. Maintains and changes lighting fixtures, bulbs and smoke detectors and prepares vacant rooms for occupancy, including punching (changing light bulbs, repairing damaged furniture, moving furniture)
4. Completes sheetrock repairs, caulking, sealing and painting
5. Moves unit and office furniture and performs a variety of semi-skilled duties in areas of plumbing carpentry, machine servicing; assisting Service Technician and Lead Service Technician
6. Repairs door handles and door frames and assists Service Tech in replacing appliances
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES*:
Knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions in the use of tools and equipment
Must be willing to carry an on-call cell phone and serve in on-call rotation
Ability to adapt to changing work environments
Ability to work in high places as necessary
Ability to build upon existing knowledge in technical application of maintenance work
Knowledge of appropriate safety standards
Must be able to work-day shift, night shift or weekend schedules
Basic computer knowledge and the ability to operate an iPad
