The Subject Matter Expert works closely with the Instructional Designer to develop and produce engaging, quality online courses in all Aspen University schools. The Subject Matter Expert contributes to an engaging student experience by ensuring courses are engaging and rigorous. This is an independent contractor/1099 position.
Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Update module overviews, and student activities including; assignments, essays, quizzes, readings, articles, and other support materials for use by facilitators and students in the delivery of the courses according to Aspen University standards, and according to the course design templates provided by the instructional designer.
a. All information contained provided must be original work. Course Design Documents, CDGs, will be processed through Turnitin.
2. Create and/or locate multi-sensory, high-engagement materials to include, but are not limited to, multimedia resources like videos, academic articles, relevant websites, PowerPoints, etc. that establish optimal conditions for producing successful student learning outcomes at Aspen University,
3. Align all materials and experiences in the course to the predetermined university, programmatic, and course goals, including various types of assessment benchmarks,
4. Work directly with the instructional developer to obtain:
a. Course development assignments,
b. Course content presentation formatting requirements and expectations, and
c. Necessary course content components and development resources.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Advanced degree in Psychology, Addiction Studies, Social Work, Family Therapy, or a related field (e.g., Ph.D., Psy.D.).
Professional Experience:
- Clinical experience working with families affected by addiction.
- Experience conducting interventions or programs focused on addiction issues within families.
- Involvement in creating and implementing family-based treatment programs.
Certifications and Licenses:
- Relevant certifications such as Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or similar credentials.
- Additional certifications in addiction counseling or family therapy (e.g., Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC), Certified Family Therapist (CFT)).
Professional Affiliations:
- Membership in professional organizations such as the American Psychological Association (APA), National Association of Social Workers (NASW), or the Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC).
