Join senior management team and use your Human Resources expertise to scale our primary care based business model. The right HR Professional is excited to help us by leading the HR function for our existing management firm which includes HR services for our affiliated primary care medical group (20 sites across Nassau, Suffolk, Queens) The HR expert will standardize the HR function first in NY and then expansion markets. This position requires a strong HR Generalist with expertise in compliance, leave management, training, performance management, benefits, 401(k), recruitment & retention, and building a shared vision and culture post M&A activity.

We are a physician-driven managed services organization (MSO) with proprietary technology embedded in the service offering. In 2020 we embarked on a new venture to help primary care physicians launch and manage a newly formed integrated medical group with the practices merged into one new large "supergroup". Overnight, in the Fall of 2020 we are moved from 25 employees to over 200 employees!
With this rapid growth comes the responsibility to recruit, train and build the right culture based on excellence, empathy and compassion for those we serve, intellectual curiosity, shared values, innovation, metric-driven measures of our performance, overall GRIT, and the sheer joy of loving the change we can bring to the world. We are seeking someone who wants to establish and run a strong HR function, and has an entrepreneurial spirit to create and develop. You love recruitment, training/development, employee relations and compliance and can do all of this all while building our desired culture.
Specific responsibilities may include:
- As we scale, continued education and training of the workforce transitioning from their legacy entities to the new medical group and management company ( a lot of new compliance and formalities for small practices now a large practice)
- Employee orientations and onboarding through online meetings and “town hall” sessions and established onsite orientations at our HQ in Great Neck
- Oversight of recruitment/talent acquisition, including postings, advertising, sourcing, screenings, interviews and testing (broad scope of employees from nurses, administrative staff and software engineers - new Talent Acquisition Specialist just joined us)
- Identification of formal and informal leaders, and building a culture that embraces the employees input and ideas
- Development of policies and procedures and related systems, including ATS
- Development and implementation of training and development programs
- Preparation and ongoing maintenance of employee records
- Employee job descriptions, performance reviews, appraisals, counseling, disciplinary actions and terminations
- Coordination of employee engagement and recognition events
- Coordination with benefit consultants on new offerings, and related implementation
Desired Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field (Masters preferred)
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Human Resources with generalist responsibilities & expertise in recruiting, training/development, and HR compliance; healthcare experience preferred
- Proven ability to develop trust and respect of the workforce at all levels from physician leaders to file clerks, recognizing that they all play an important role in delivering optimal patient care
- Entrepreneurial spirit to develop a strong HR function and scale
- Detail oriented, strong organizational and time management skills to anticipate and plan time accordingly
- Strong writing skills to take complex regulation and law and develop policies and procedures, as well as job descriptions, and training manuals
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive employee information with strict adherence to confidentiality protocols
- Ability to work well in a team and on self-directed tasks to meet deadlines
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining a primary focus on core responsibilities
- Excellent in-person, email and phone communication skills
- Strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, and strong technology skills to manage offsite workforce
