Summary

As the principal teaching hospital of the Harvard Medical School Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, new ideas and a passion for innovation are part of our makeup. The Post Doctoral Fellow in the Discovery Center for Musculoskeletal Recovery at the Schoen Adams Research Institute will support the cutting-edge research for Regenerative Rehabilitation to maximize skeletal muscle regeneration and functional recovery under the supervision of Dr. Fabrisia Ambrosio and Dr. Hirotaka Iijima.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research in the field of Regenerative Rehabilitation for skeletal muscle with procedures as assigned (i.e. small animal handling, iPS cell culture, histological analysis etc.).
- Conduct literature searches.
- Draft manuscript for peer review publications in scientific journals.
- Develop grant proposals with suitable preliminary studies sections to compete for federal, foundation and industry research grants.
- Works independently under general supervision and weekly meeting.
Qualifications and Experience
Education/Degree
Required: PhD degree in medical field.
Experience
Required: Evidence of a strong publication record related to skeletal muscle regeneration and iPS, including first (or co-first) author of one or more peer-reviewed scientific publications.
Preferred: Strong expertise in rehabilitation research.
Skills
Required:
- Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills with the English language.
- High skills with iPS cell culture
Preferred:
- Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse population.
- High writing skills with suitable preliminary studies sections to compete for federal, foundation and industry research grants.
- Skills for literature research.
- Work independently, be self-directed and contribute as a member of a team.
- Anticipates challenges and develops and implements strategies for addressing them.
- High level of service delivery. Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and adapt to changing situations.
