SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE: The Human Resource Assistant is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resource operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares job postings and assist with any recruiting needs.
Handles the employment application intake.
Maintain employee files and Paycom data system to include processing and input of new hire and termination paperwork.
Performs all data entry into the Paycom system, creates and maintains all personnel files.
Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
Assists with new-employee packages if needed.
Maintains confidential personnel files and files all personnel actions.
Responds to reference checks. Process verifications of employment request and other needed HR correspondences. Ex: Income verification, etc.
Assists the HR Director with HR projects.
Assist with the benefits administration which includes employee enrollment, terminations, changes, monthly billing reconciliations and the conduction of annual open enrollments.
Assist with the Cobra administration processing for terminated employees, reviewing all the periodic payment reports.
Assist updating the share drive with the most recent HR policies and processes.
Assist with all monthly audits to ensure compliance of Federal & State Laws and Regulations
Respond to Human Resources, Payroll and Benefits related questions by employees and department managers.
Assist the Human Resources Director in administering employee recognition activities such as service honors, employee of the year award, attendance awards, birthdays, etc.
Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Filing and other tasks as needed and assigned by management.
Cross-train to perform payroll and benefits as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work. This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in HR in warehousing and transportation environments.
AA Degree or 2 year of college level required, plus two years of office/clerical support experience.
Preferred Education and Experience in HR
Previous HR experience – Min 2 years
