Dental Hygienist
POSITION SUMMARY
$4000 SIGN ON BONUS.......
The Dental Hygienist fills a key role in the practice through being responsible for maintaining oral health, oral education and overall comfort for the clinical patient experience. An ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience communicating and educating patients on oral health and hygiene, as well as providing stellar oral hygiene services. The Dental Hygienist works closely with the dentist to provide soft tissue treatment plans and the office manager to provide a remarkable patient experience.

OBJECTIVES
- Ensure patient understanding of treatment procedures, alternatives and risks
- Provide care and information that reflects current standards of care
- Assist Dentist in formulating and delivering soft-tissue management plan
- Perform clinical procedures relative to training and license
- Cleans calculus deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums using dental instruments.
- Examines gums using probes to locate periodontal recessed gums and signs of gum disease. Perform Oral Cancer Screening.
- Applies fluorides or other cavity-preventing agents to arrest dental decay.
- Proficient with Dental X-Rays
- Records and reviews patient medical histories. Charts conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist.
- Maintains dental equipment and sharpens and sterilized dental instruments.
- Provides clinical services or health education to improve and maintain the oral health of patients or the general public.
- Anesthesia

- Knowledge of general principles of dentistry
- Advanced knowledge of dental hygiene

- Ability to chart and review patient medical histories
- Knowledge of cleaning and maintenance of equipment and instruments
- Knowledge of Dentrix
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associates Degree or the successful completion of a recognized vocational program in dental hygiene.
- State license required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
