1. Responsible for release of information according to established policy and laws
2. Performs scanning and other HIM projects.
3. Respond to requests for information requiring proper authorization (both internal and external), via telephone, email or walk-in, in a timely manner.
4. Delivers/ or picks up hard copy medical record information to and from designated areas in the hospital.
5. Performs clerical task necessary for the proper maintenance of patient's medical records.
6. Receives and respond to telephone calls pertaining to all HIM related questions.
7. Other duties as maybe assigned.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Health Information Technician or similar role preferred.
- Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to use general office equipment including telephone, fax machine, copy machine, and scanners.

Releases information according to established policy and laws; Performs rounded scanning and any other necessary scanning projects; Delivers and/or picks up hard copy medical record information to designated areas as requested; Retrieves PACS image burning to CDs in response to requests. Inputs and retrieves data utilizing computer systems to prioritize and monitor for the completion of requests and monitoring EPIC work queues; supports MyCare administration by establishing codes, set up and navigation; Routes transcription work. Processes information prep, summary, quality review and analysis, and data entry in the EHR as appropriate. Receives and responds to telephone calls pertaining to all HIM related questions. Responds to requests for information requiring proper authorization. Other duties as assigned.
